Environmental Impact

At Dynamic Adventures, we take full responsibility for the impact we have on the environment and are incredibly aware of the critical condition that the world is in.

Our Aims:

  • To encourage respect for the environment by including an element of education of the stewardship of the natural world in all our sessions

  • To improve the natural environment

  • To be carbon neutral from now onwards

NOW in 2021

  • Dynamic run expeditions all over Europe and only use airlines who carbon offset their flights.

  • Dynamic run expeditions all over the UK and carbon offset all our fuel by contributing to the projects of Carbon Footprint. We also seek to reduce vehicle usage by car-sharing and using trains whenever possible.

  • We run on-going rubbish collecting competitions on the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions with up to 2000 participants taking part each year.

  • We do not buy single use plastic whenever alternatives are possible and have stopped using all products made with Palm Oil.

  • We regularly contribute to charities focussed on improving outcomes for those under threat from climate change such as Amnesty International and Orangutan Foundation.

The Numbers

  • We employ 6 full time staff and have 3 vans.

  • On average, we use around 5000 kilowatts of energy at The Adventure Centre per year.

  • We travel about 45,500 miles in our diesel vans per year.

  • We took just 22 seats on flights in 2020 for our trainees, staff and clients, all with EasyJet who already carbon offset all flights. Now double offset by us.

  • Total carbon used in 2020 in tonnes: 43.50 (using Carbon Footprint calculator)

  • This costs around £300 this year to carbon offset which we pass on to Carbon Footprint Ltd. They then provide trees to the value of this for our neighbours Park School where our Adventurers Club will be planting them with help from our Trainee instructors who run their after-school outdoor activity club. This completes the circle.

The Future 2021- 2025

  • We aim to reduce electric use at our Adventure Centre by replacing all florescent lights with LEDs: 15 lights to replace in total at £200 each, replacing 5 each year for the next 3 years.

  • We seek to minimise multiple vehicle use through our 3 vans (reducing the usage of trainees’ cars) in order to systematise carbon offsetting on our company’s total diesel usage.

  • As the vans become redundant, we will replace with smaller lease electric vehicles for transportation of our trainees.

  • Flights will continue to double offset with EasyJet.

  • Tree planting project pilot set to increase year upon year as we gradually involve all the schools we work with.
